Is considerably cold in the entire hilly region. The Kathmandu valley at 1310 meters can get as cold as 2°C (minimum) in the cold months from late November to January. A little higher you’ll encounter temperatures that dip to freezing levels. The Terai however, is mild and on most days a light sweater is too much in the afternoon sun. |

Nepalese people are mainly divided into two distinct groups the Indo-Aryans and the Mangoloids. Kathmandu Valley is the spiritual and cultural meeting point of all these groups. Nepal is the only Hindu Kingdom in the world. Hindu Temples and Buddhist shrines are scattered all over the kingdom. Nepal is the birthplace of Lord Buddha, the Light of Asia. There is a complex blending of Hinduism and Buddhism in Nepal.
Customs & Duties:
You must clear your luggage at the port of entry. Heres a list of the things you may bring and their volumes so they do not attract duty. Its illegal to export antiques.

2. Liquor: 1 bottle not larger than 1.15 litters, or 12 cans of beer
3. You are also allowed to bring in a still camera (15 rolls of film though 400X film is more easily available all over Nepal than in some cities in India);
4. One movie camera (12 rolls) or one video camera;
5. Something to listen to your music on; one pram,
6. One tricycle,
7. One walking stick,
8. One sleeping bag and one pair of binoculars.

For mountaineers, look out for symptoms of altitude sickness/acute mountain sickness.
If you ascend above 3500m too fast you might feel nauseous, sleepless, and your head may ache. In this case your body’s telling you that you’re having acclimatization problems so let’s descend, buddy. Jokes aside, this is a very serious situation to be in and the only thing to do is to descend. Also carry sunscreen with minimum SPF 20 to escape sunburn.

The trip cost does not include travel insurance and visitors are advised to take the insurance coverage in your country before trip departure to Nepal
Important Information:
You are requested to get the arrival/departure stamps on your passport at the entry/exit points to void further legal complications.
You are requested to change money with recognized dealers and do not forget to take formal receipts.
You are advised to be mindful to contact the Dept. of Immigration for visa transfer in case of getting new passport or travel document from your embassy.
Passport and trekking permits should be kept by the trekkers while trekking.
Filming in restricted areas or notified areas without permission is strictly prohibited.
Respect local traditions, customs, values and sentiments, help to protect local culture and maintain local pride. Unknowingly offending them, it is always desirable to try to respect as many as their customs and beliefs as you can.
When you entering a Nepalese house or temple/ Monastery
Always remove shoes at the doorsteps.
Many Hindus temple may not be opened to non- Hindus, so always seek permission.
Begging is a harsh reality in most of third world countries and Nepal is not exception.
Try to avoid giving money to street beggars and dont pass you balloons and candy to village children as it encourages them to beg.
Trip Grading Systems:
Gentle /1400-3000m
This is non-trekking type of tours. Any person with a positive attitude can do this type of trip.
Leisure / 3001-4000m
This type of tour includes white water rafting, hiking and easy trekking. You have to walk for 5-6 hrs per day and you can reach to the close view of the mountains
Adventure/4001-6000m
In this trip you have to walk for 6-8 hrs and cover the altitude of 4001-6000m.
Extreme adventure/6001-7000mIt is quite hard, as you have to cover the altitude of 6001-7000m and have to walk /climb 8-10 Hrs Of high altitude.
Technical /7001-8848mThis type of activities need a good experience as it includes of passing high passes as well as climbing peaks. Person going for this type of trips should be fit both mentally and physically. Note: - People suffering from different diseases such as heart disease, asthma, blood pressure etc. are advised not to take these programs
