Trekking permit Fees

All trekkers require a trekking permit to visit Nepal ’s interior regions, which are not connected by highways. Recently the Annapurna, Langtang and Everest regions have been declared “permit free" areas; but National Park or Conservation Area fees are required...We process the trekking permits and national park entrances at immigration offices in Kathmandu and Pokhara.Two photographs and a copy of passport are required with the application.

Trekkers should be obtained The Trekking permit for the following trekking areas. The areas and required fees are as follows:

  • Lower Dolpo, Kanchenjunga, Gaurishankar and Lamabagar - US$ 10 per person per week
  • Manaslu Area - US$ 50(Dec-Aug) per person per week and US$ 7 for each extra day US$ 70(Sep-Nov) per person per week. and US$ 10 for each extra day
  • Humla - Simikot - Yari - US$ 50 per person per week. For 7 days and US$ 7 per person per extra day
  • Upper Mustang and Upper Dolpo - US$ 500 per person for the first ten days and US$ 50 per person per day thereafter.
  • Chekampar and Chunchet of Gorkha district (Sirdibas-Lhokpa-Chumling-Chekampar-Nile-Chule) - US$ 35 (Sep-Nov) per person for 8 days US$ 25 (Dec-Aug) ) per person for 8 days

For trekking through National park and Conservation areas require an entry permits. The entrance permits fees are as follow for the following National parks and Conservation Areas:
  • Annapurna,Manaslu,Makalu-Barun and Kanchanjunga Conservation Area - US$ 32.00 per person.
  • Langtang, Rara Lake, Sagaramtha ,Shey Phoksundo ,Chitwan and Bardia National Park - US$ 15.00 per person.
  • Humla - Simikot - Yari US$ 50 per person per week. For 7 days and US$ 7 per person per extra day
  • Shivapuri Conservation Area - US$ 4.00 per person

Royalty for mountaineering

Nepal’s tourism industry, the Government of Nepal has made following decisions in a bid to make mountaineering royalty fee competitive amongst the neighboring countries, promote mountains lying in remote and less privileged areas, and create environment to transform the seasonal mountaineering business operational round the year and materialize the concept of ‘Nepal for all Seasons'.

Provide discount of 50% in winter and Summer Season and 75% in Autumn Season keeping intact the Royalty Fee in Spring Season.Increase the number of climbing member in an expedition from 12 to 15.Provide 100% discount on Royalty Fee for mountains located in mid and Far Western Development Regions for 5 years.Implement Incremental Royalty Break-down System (IRDS), a system under which permit fee increases with the increase in number of climbing members, on all mountains instead of lump sum per expedition having climbing members seven or less than that.
