Tamang Heritage Trail
The Tamang Heritage Trail takes you to verdant midlands of
Nepal experiencing the beauty of this mountain region and the culture of the people who live here. The trail passes through traditional Tamang villages where life, culture, and crafts have remained unchanged since the beginning of the settlment. Warm traditional welcome hosted by the locals, their elaborate costumes, rich architecture of their mountain houses, and the ancient monasteries and places of pray add color to the experience of this trail. In addition to cultural experience, the trek also offers wilderness experience through beautiful landscapes of alpine terrain, flat meadows, and rhododendron forests
Itinerary:
Day 1: Kathmandu - Dhunche-Syabru - Gatlang Drive - Dhunche, See different settlements and interact with local people on the way. In the evening Tamang cultural show at Gatlang. O/N Lodge
Day 2: Gatlang - Tatopani Trekking from Gatlang - Tatopani. Hot bath in the natural spring of Tatopani. Sightseeing of Langtang range, Ganesh Himal on the way. Experience of the Tamang culture. 5-6 hrs. (Trekking)
Day3: Tatopani - Brimdang - Nagthali-Thuman Trekking from Tatopani - Thuman via Brimdang and Nagthali. Beautiful views of Langtang, Sanjen, Ganesh Himal, Kerung, and forests of rhododendrons at bloom during season.
Day4: Thuman - Lingling- Briddim Trekking from Thuman-Briddim via Lingling. Observe Tibeto-Burman Tamang culture the village life of Briddim. Evening cultural show done by community members.4 hrs.trek
Day5: Briddim - Lama hotel Village walk at Briddim, observing the local lifestyle and culture, and interacting with the locals. En route to Langtang, the settlement of Lama hotel is located on the banks of Langtang river and surrounded by lush forests .
Day 5: Thuman - Timure - Rasuwagadhi - Timure Trekking from Thuman to Timure and visit nearby historical Rasuwagadhi. Observe Tibe to-Burman Tamang culture on the two villages on the way. 5 hrs.
Day 6: Timure - Briddim Trekking from Timure - Briddim. Observe village life of Briddim. Watch cultural show done by community members. Experience of home-stay and Tamang culture. 6 hrs. (Trekking (Home stay) at Briddim
Day 7: Briddhim - Syabrubesi Trekking from Briddim - Syabrubesi via Wangel3 hrs. (Trekking) Syabru (Hotels, Lodges, Teashops)
Day 8: Syabrubesi - Dhunche - Kathmandu 7-8 hrs.drive
