Gorkha

is the historical town Gorkha Palace Nepallocated south west of Pokhara where the seed of birth of modern Nepal was sown. Conquering King of the Shah dynasty launched their campaigns from Gorkha and ultimately unified Nepal. The famous Gorkha soldiers carry their name as a tribute to their valour during these conquests. The highlight of Gorkha is the Gorkha palace the royal building, which is perched atop 330m above Gorkha town, with spectacular mountains views. The walk up to this palace is worthwhile to savour the splendors of nature. There is also a dedicated temple of Goddess Kali, the manifestation of female force in the complex within. After every 15 day there is sacrifice in this shrine which attracts flocks of human. Just below the palace is a holy cave of reclusive saint Gorakhnath, who used to live here that derives the name Gorkha.
